SENCo Champions

Swindon SENCo Champions (experienced SENCOs nominated and supported by their headteachers that demonstrate inclusive practice)

These are a dedicated group of SENCos who have a wealth of experience of good inclusive practice. They contribute to some of the strategic decision making processes within the Local Authority’s systems and processes. For example, they were part of the working parties for the development of the Core Standards, they are leading the review process for finding the impact of the Core standards. They meet every 3 months as part of their core work to plan their work and support. They often informally support schools and SENCos and can be part of the brokered support for other schools. They run the Share and Solve hubs. SENCo Champions have developed the SSSHs, attended training for the WSS reviews, been part of LA regional events, and completed discovery exercises with other similar local authorities.

These pages detail the dates of these meetings, contain agenda and provide access to a document library and contact information of speakers, where appropriate.
